My first attempt at protegefiction in quite some time. Lately I’ve been toying with the idea of writing whole stories in 55 words or less.

Joanna felt responsible for her students, but they ignored her, like everyone else. She wanted to die. She was preparing poison when the doorbell rang.

“I read your online suicide note,” said David, an intense, brooding class loner.

“And you’re hoping to stop me?”

“No. I have a favor to ask…Take me with you.”
